As of 4 November 2026 this is a small, invitation-only test pilot. No installation is required for browser access. Wait for the organiser to announce availability if the service is not ready. Use test amounts and information suitable for sharing in a test network. Using the app does not automatically make you a member of a community or transfer ownership of your property.

Start in a browser

1. Get a registration invitation from the test organiser.
2. Open the application, choose registration and enter your name, invitation and your own long password. Enter passwords only in the application.
3. Wait for the initial node preparation. If registration stops part way through, sign in to the account already created rather than creating another one.
4. Open P2P Finance to prepare your wallet, then download the encrypted key backup from My profile. Keep the file separately and remember the password.
5. Try a message to another participant, a resource listing and a small test payment.

The pilot supports up to two active browser nodes at a time. Retry later if capacity is busy. A server restart may require signing in again.

Keep your keys

Encrypted device and financial keys are stored in your browser. A different browser profile, private window or site address has separate storage. Save your backup before clearing site data.

A password alone cannot restore keys in another browser. On the sign-in screen, expand key recovery, select your encrypted backup and sign in to the same account at the same site address. Enter the separate wallet password too, if you used one. Files from a different account or server are rejected. Never send passwords, backup files or private keys in chat. Lost browser keys without a backup cannot currently be recovered.

Connection and trust

For this browser pilot, Holochain nodes run on the project server. HTTPS protects the browser connection; financial commands are signed in the browser. The server operator holds the hosted Holochain keys and must be trusted. This differs from running your own independent node.

Bootstrap helps nodes find one another; relay assists internet connections through NAT. Community history is archived only after the owner explicitly grants access. An authorised archive operator can read that community history. Private chat uses a separate mechanism.

Finance currently uses one confirming node, without automatic standby failover. A route calculation does not reserve future trust-network capacity. Check operation history before retrying an uncertain payment. Test units do not carry a promise of redemption for ordinary money.

Installation

The downloads page provides versioned installers and checksums. Android pilot 0.1.5, ARM64 requires Android 8.1 or later. Public desktop and iOS installers are still pending; use the browser on those platforms.

Android installation and updates

The APK is 88.4 MB. It contains the app, Holochain and program modules; identities, messages, wallets and test databases are excluded. Node storage is created on the device, and network data synchronises after connection. Runtime storage can grow larger than the installer.

1. Download the APK and its SHA-256 checksum. Android may ask you to allow installation from your browser.
2. Install over the previous pilot. Do not uninstall or clear its data. The package identifier and signing identity are retained for an ordinary update.
3. In an existing installation, open connection settings, select World Community network, save and fully restart the app. Previously saved endpoints take priority over the new defaults.
4. Sign in to your phone identity or create a new one. Check a message and resource listings. USB is not required.

The native app runs its own Holochain node. Android may suspend it in the background. Browser identities and balances from a previous local wallet do not transfer automatically.

Native finance needs separate admission to the VPS financial node and its public configuration from the organiser. Importing that configuration does not grant admission or replace an existing financial domain. Until that connection is ready, use the web application for VPS finance. Help

If listings are missing, clear category, owner and distance filters and refresh. Radius 0 means unrestricted distance. If a saved key is missing, use backup-file recovery rather than creating a replacement identity. For archive history, the community owner must first grant the archive access.

On the phone, the Trust Network demo opens in the browser without creating an additional training database in the app.
